Volunteers are needed at each event to deliver an amazing guest experience. Volunteers help in all stages from planning to execution to post event debrief. Positions include: distributing materials, parking attendant, setup and tear down, gift shop, food & beverage, wayfinding, program development and more.
Volunteers lead tours through the Museum to guests, students, tourists and groups and attend training. Docents have a rotating flexible schedule to meet the needs of the scheduled guided tour.
Train to conduct outreach programs and presentations at regional schools, clubs, agencies and organizations about the WASP and Avenger Field. Schedules are flexible and coordinated with Museum staff. In some instances, mileage may be reimbursed.
Volunteers to preserve and protect the artifacts (photographs, objects, newpapers, books, documents, etc.) donated by WASP, their families and friends, military enthusiats, aviation experts and general public.
The Gift Shop is the entry and exit to the Museum and these volunteers welcome guests to the Museum and thank them for their visit. Gift Shop volunteers support the guest experience by recommending souvenirs, books and other memorabilia about WASP and their visit to Sweetwater. Some duties include tagging merchandise, stocking products, organizing the stockroom and keeping the gift shop clean.
Volunteers with computer literacy, organization skills and attention to detail will assist with mailings, data entry, spreadsheets, filing and other general office duties. This position is available during Museum hours and is a great way to be involved behind the scenes.
