Dear Museum Visitors and Partners,

The Museum Board has voted to follow the practices enacted by the Sweetwater ISD and Sweetwater City Council in the face of the COVID-19 virus. Currently, meetings and gatherings with more than 10 people will be postponed until mid-April. In the meantime, you can still reach us by phone as we work in the Museum preparing for future exhibits and events designed with you in mind. While this is a difficult time, we are confident that when this illness has run its course, we will be together again, stronger than ever.

Additionally, the Museum has made the difficult decision to cancel Homecoming 2020. While we are sad to be unable to celebrate our WASP this year and so disappointed in not seeing you, we will spend the next 12 months ensuring that Homecoming 2021 is a doubly joyous reunion for us all.

Best regards,
Museum Staff and Board

  • About Us

  • The National WASP WWII Museum is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of the Women Airforce Service Pilots. Our mission is to educate and inspire all generations with the story of the WASP—the first women to fly America's military aircraft—who forever changed the role of women in aviation.

GET INVOLVED

The WASP Museum is an exciting place to visit. Guests hear stories of triumph, tragedy, and lessons learned while touching and seeing unique artifacts and aircraft. The Museum is so much more, though. It’s a school that goes on tour at airshows and in school districts. It serves as a gathering place for local and regional events. It’s a solemn memorial ground for the ashes of 13 WASP and hosts our yearly Homecoming Weekend honoring our pilots and their families. The Museum is both a place and a mission. To bring our best to every endeavor, the Museum relies on friends to supplement the work of our staff. Please consider ways you can be part of the mission today.
